Prime age at 75

The family company NOVOPLAST, founded in 1945, specialises in precise plastics solutions. The company, based in Wallbach with a production facility in Hungary, is excellent in injection-moulding, multi-component and extrusion technologies.

You clearly feel the fresh breeze when you enter Novoplast's modern building directly by the Rhine in Wallbach. The rooms are bright and the employees are friendly and courteous. Here you find people who wish to move the 75-year-old family business forward.

This is also what Marc Mollenkopf, CEO of the company since February 2019, wishes to do. "A lot has been invested in our company in recent years," the mechanical engineer emphasises. Large investments in software and infrastructure were made both at the Wallbach headquarters and at the Hungarian subsidiary plant. The company is very proud of its new, ultra-modern, innovative two-component injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 220 tonnes.

Modern machine park and holistic solutions

The machinery at NOVOPLAST includes 28 injection moulding machines and ten extruder lines. The company processes 1,100 tonnes of plastic materials per year for markets such as apparatus engineering, medical technology, construction, chemistry and sanitary/drinking water applications.

The company, which employs a total of 125 people in its plants in Wallbach and Hungary (founded in 1996), offers its customers holistic solutions. NOVOPLAST supports customers from the initial idea to the realisation of the marketable product. This is how plastic parts are designed and made according to the plastic trade. These are conceptualised together with national and international tool manufacturers. After all, the product is manufactured in-house with specialists for plastic injection moulding and extrusion.

"State-of-the-art software such as CAD and PLM is used to develop products and tools," Marc Mollenkopf explains.

Here's to the next 75 years

The company, which was founded in 1945 in Breitenbach, Solothurn, is still fully owned by the founding families and, at 75, is in its prime.
